Senior Program Manager of community engagement and partnerships will work with the Director of the Aspen Challenge and the Aspen Challenge team to define, design, and execute a creative strategy to build local networks of committed partners and advisors to foster the sustainability of the program over time with local ownership and adaptation.
The specific cities in which their work will occur include oversight and serve in an advisory role, as well as future cities to be developed. They will be playing a prominent role the programs growth and social impact, communication strategy, and management of key national partners, networks and funders. They will work to co-create and roll out models for ensuring success on the strategic goals of Aspen Challenge, using detailed and data-driven plans.
What you will need:Experience in youth activation work or education Passion for the mission of the Aspen Challenge and strong belief in the power of youth voice Some background in business, including marketing and sales, preferred though not required At least 5 years of experience in managing and fostering strategic partnerships Experience working with US city governments and US city politics required, experience with city/community level partnerships strongly preferred Keen ability to build and maintain relationships with people of diverse backgrounds and a broad range of professional levels Keen understanding of how decisions wok at city level and how resources are controlled Keen understanding of the national education system and how school districts operate Strong network across the private and public sectors; experience working with school systems preferred History of success in organizational strategy and project management Ability to evaluate, see opportunity and pivot while simultaneously achieving project goals Ability to manage conflict Strong financial acumen Background working in youth empowerment or education preferred Excellent facilitation, presentation and public speaking skills; experience creating and delivering high quality trainings and convenings Sophisticated communication skills with a strong background in writing and editing
Essential Job Duties:Work with Director to define, design and execute creative strategy to build a community of committed partners and advisors to impact sustainability of the program across an array of markets, including but not limited to: Work with Director on management of significant stakeholders in each market including design and management of all engagement events Work with Director on cultivation of a wide spectrum of partners Maintenance of prospective stakeholder pipeline to increase partnerships for the core program in all markets Work with the Aspen Challenge team to design of replicable structure for partnerships and sponsorships that tracks benefits, privileges, recognition, and acknowledgment Work with Director to Design of high-quality framework to extend the reach in existing and to future markets and garner continued partner engagement Service as liaison and writer for program partners and ensure the highest standards of quality and accuracy Design and deployment of community readiness tool and assessment tools in partnership with youth leadership assessment team Assist the Director in the development of an advisory committee and model for its function Work with director Identify financial drivers to sustain partner engagement and build corresponding financial models associated with program growth and sustainability Work with the Challenge team to identify knowledge, products and tools that communities are currently using to support the work of local challenge programs Work with the Director to maintain relationship with the Bezos Family Foundation Drive communications and marketing strategy for the program Work with Aspen Challenge team to develop brand voice and grow reach across digital platforms as well as paid and earned media Work with two Program Managers to create a strategy to market opportunities for alumni both within the Aspen Institute network and externally to increase alumni engagement Support opening forums and competitions as needed
