Construction Start-up Technician (Journeyman) Job Summary Operates diagnoses, maintains and repairs HVAC/R systems and equipment for MTech Mechanical Services commercial/industrial clients. Also provides technical education for team members as needed.   Essential Job Function Maintain clear and professional communication with clients, Project Managers, APM’s, Service Dept., and other team members. Conducts one’s self in a professional manner with verbal communication, personal appearance, and detailed writing skills Make decisions and render judgment, commit to decisions and be accountable for one’s actions Performs start up and commissioning requirements for commercial HVAC systems Completes service and warranty request calls for MTech projects. Participates in MTech Service Department meetings, processes, on call rotation, and other company policies.  Responsible for internal and external client satisfaction with all clients/projects assigned; Interprets drawings and schematics and installs HVAC/R components; Test HVAC/R equipment for proper operation Verifies equipment registrations per local, state and federal codes Must be familiar with State, Federal and Local codes and hold journeyman licenses for Denver and/or other local municipalities Ensures compliance with environmental regulations of fuels, refrigerants and other hazardous materials Repairs or replaces components Complete all required documentation (electronic/paper) including but not limited to start up reports, Cx reports, warranty claim requests, MTech administrative requirements, daily service reports, and other job specific documentation. Maintains shop tools and equipment Provides technical education for team members as needed Ability to operate a company vehicle in accordance with the MTech policy and procedures manual Act as a liaison between the client and MTech Mechanical Technologies Group. Help establish goals for the week with dispatch. Promote time management skills to team techs. Promote 100% billable time. Develop team/client relationships. Quality inspection. Safety inspection. Manage preventative maintenance accounts to fit within budget. Responsible for accuracy and completeness of team's paperwork/MSI and coordinate corrections as necessary. Back up timecard checks on as needed basis Assist with contract renewals. All paperwork must be done in the field at the job site. Keep client informed as to progress in resolving problem situations.  See that clients are satisfied and generate more work. Work within the guidelines of the safety and employee policy. Be proactive in helping generate policy and procedure. Coordinate with other operations groups to complete service projects involving them. Take responsibility for own learning and continuing education so that skill is "state of the art". Regular and predictable attendance is expected in order to meet the requirements of this position Other duties as assigned: On call rotation, assist with small projects, assist on an as needed basis with Monday morning meeting and paperwork, assist with in house technical training. Operates and diagnoses HVAC/R systems and equipment up to 100 tons cooling capacity and 10 million BTU’s heating capacity Responsible for client satisfaction with all clients/projects assigned; Interprets drawings and schematics and installs HVAC/R components; Test HVAC/R equipment for proper operation Verifies equipment registrations per local, state and federal codes Ensures compliance with environmental regulations of fuels, refrigerants and other hazardous materials Repairs or replaces components Complete all required paperwork at the jobsite Maintains shop tools and equipment Ability to operate a company vehicle in accordance with the MTech policy and procedures manual Regular and predictable attendance is expected in order to meet the requirements of this position Other duties as assigned Qualifications HVAC technical school two year degree or certificate or high school diploma Must be familiar with State, Federal and Local codes and hold journeyman licenses for Denver and/or other local municipalities 5 years of Service Technician experience including a thorough understanding of business/industry practices, processes, & standards Must be approved to drive per MTech’s driving standards EPA 608 certification type 1,2 or universal required Thorough understanding for safety and OSHA rules & regulations  Excellent communication, interpersonal and motivational skills  Strong organizational and problem-solving skills  Solid MS Office/Excel skills and willingness to learn new software programs. Highly motivated and independent self-starter Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Expertise in all aspects of HVAC service Strong written and oral communications skills Continued training is required MTech Mechanical Avon area preferred.
