Issuance of 2021 Real and Personal Property
Notices of Valuation for Taxation and
Notice of Taxpayer Protest Procedures

Real Property Valuation and Protests. On May 3, 2021, the Summit County Assessor will mail notices of valuation (NOVs) for taxation of real property to Summit County taxpayers. Real property NOVs are also made available to taxpayers on the Assessor's webpage at https://www.summitcountyco.gov/390/Notice-of-Valuation-Archive-Search. 2021 NOVs reflect the Assessor's determination of a subject real property's market value as of June 30, 2020. Beginning May 3, 2021, the Assessor will hear taxpayer objections or protests concerning 2021 valuation or classification of taxable real property. Taxpayer objections and protest for real property must be postmarked, delivered, or given in person by June 1, 2021. Real property NOV objections or protests are accepted by the Assessor via mail, email, ballot box drop-off, online filing, and in-person. Personal Property Valuation and Protests. On June 15, 2021, the Summit County Assessor will mail NOVs for taxation of personal property to Summit County taxpayers. Personal property NOVs are also made available to taxpayers on the Assessor's webpage at https://www.summitcountyco.gov/390/Notice-of-Valuation-Archive-Search. 2021 NOVs reflect the Assessor's determination of a subject property's market value as of June 30, 2020. Beginning June 15, 2021, the Assessor will hear taxpayer objections and protests concerning 2021 valuation or classification of taxable personal property. Taxpayer objections or protests for personal property must be postmarked or physically delivered by June 30, 2021. Personal property NOV objections or protests are accepted by the Assessor via mail, email, ballot box drop-off, online filing, and in-person.
